Hi everybody, my husband (he is French) and I are going to France next week to stay with his family and I need to think of something to offer my mother-in-law and sister-in-law (she is 29). I have visited them one other time 2 1/2 years ago and (shame on me) came empty handed. I really don't want to do that again! They live in the south of France (Perpignan) but everything I think about offering them, I feel like they can get better quality in France! Please...ANY suggestions would be great!

I studied in France and had to bring a gift for my host family - not quite the same situation. But, I would recommend bringing something from your own culture - something unique to "your" family that would give her a glimpse into your life. Maybe put together a photo album or something along those lines.
1Thanks hbkduke for the advice!
That's what I was thinking too, something "American". They have given me tons of "french" soaps and perfumes stuff like that. The first thing that came to mind was Tiffany b/c it is sooo american. But I can't afford to spend that much, so then I was thinking something like Bath and Body Works, but I really don't know.
I can't really do a photo album for various and annoying reasons but I like the idea
2bring them some type of american food. once an italian friend brought me back parmigianno regiano and it lasted me for a year! it was wonderful.
